Its just lucky there wasnt any kids involved in the whole thing.

Just remind your girl how lucky the both of you are and how lucky she is that you are not that way.
Then after she agrees with you, ask her for some money for a new gun!

I almost posted +2 to this.....then thought better of it.

While I agree that women are never logical, I have to admit that there's nothing wrong with caring for someone. Sure, she would have been stupid to allow herself to be his punching bag, but there's nothing wrong with her caring that the guy died.
