See if it's magnetic, non silver Canadian dimes are magnetic, hard to tell apart from Candian silver dimes.  I think the last silver Canadian dimes were made in 1967, just going by memeory

Another giveaway (yeah, I collect coins as well as AR's), the head on the 2000 and + Roosevelt dimes are noticeably smaller than any 1999 and before Roosevelt dime, they had to shrink it in order to make up the room the "2" in "2xxx" makes vs the "1" in "19xx" makes.

I like getting silver coins in change.

Only money thats worth something beyond the .govs word.
