I have a question about training my cat to use a litter box. My fiance's cat is probably about 6 years old, and used to be an indoor/outdoor cat. Recently his parents moved out and let us have her because they don't have room for her in their new place, so now she shares the apartment with us. She hasn't used the litterbox in a while, and we're trying to get her trained. I tried to dig her paws around in the litter like you're supposed to, but she'll only go once, then every other time she has to go, she'll meow at us, expecting us to let her go outside. I don't know how to keep her behavior consistent. We praised her yesterday and today for doing it, but we're afraid that she won't keep it up if we're out at work or something. Any ideas or similar experiences? |
Good idea. I need to go out and buy her some.
I have no idea what to do when she does go on the floor, short of yelling at her, which is useless. |
yeah, yelling at it is useless. the best thing that I found to disciplin a cat is to take it by the scruff (nape of the neck) and get right in its face and make a growling sound for a few minutes. they will understand that real quick |
