So. The NRA HQ range is a very nice facility with a very nice and friendly staff. They are VERY anal about safety….but that’s a good thing. One guy however, is quite less than nice. Article one: I don’t think he likes evil black rifles so he did not like me and was looking for an excuse. I have a double rifle case. To put two rifles in that case, they have to point in opposite directions. I finish shooting and prepare to leave. I lock the action back, safety on, magazine out, and visually inspect the chamber of my M4 and then, keeping my hands far from the trigger area, place my M4 in my case keeping the rifle aiming downrange. Then I take my AK, lock the action back, safety on, magazine out and visually inspect the chamber, and then, keeping my hands far from the trigger area, I turn the rifle over and put it in the case. NOT sweeping the range, but sweeping the ceiling and the concrete wall(I was on lane one for those that know the range). He comes over with a very pissed off tone of voice and a half yell to not do that. I ask how I am supposed to and he says to turn my case around, then put the AK in keeping the muzzle downrange. I said! QUOTE!! In a pleasant tone of voice “Oh, okay, that makes sense, because even though my M4 is still pointing at people I am not….” CUTS ME OFF AND STARTS YELLING AT ME LIKE A DRILL INSTRUCTOR…”YEAH BUT YOU SEE(shakes finger in face) YOUR NOT HANDELING IT! IT’S IN THE OPEN CASE BUT NOT YOUR HANDS!!! And continues to say the same point(which I was about to tell him before he cut me off) over and over again while I smile and say yes sir thank you sir trying my absolute best not to do something I would regret the rest of my life. Okay, fine, I understand the INCREDABLE safety concern of keeping the open action, no magazine, safety on, visually inspected and hand not near the trigger rifle pointing down range while putting it in the case. And agree completly to a talk from the RO and being informed on correct pocedure, but did I deserve that? |
You should of zipped up the case and laughed at him. |
Thats what i do but just so that person would shut up..............but yeah he was a jerk |

I have had ROs try to do that when I was casing weapons, I told them to STFU, I had already wathed the one take someon's shotgun out of it's case and lean it against the owner's truck (shotguns were not allowed on that range, but he was not using it, it just lived in his double case as well...) the owner was miffed to saythe least, when he came over complaining about the attitude he got from the shotties owner I said he was lucky, if he had touched one of my firearms without permission I'd have hit him. He was pissed at me for th erest of the day too, but he did not touch one of my firearms I'd have hit this asshat as well |
it reads exactly how it is. I'd like to see someone punchout a rangemaster......its not like they aren't familiar with firearms or their rights to defend themselves.......... take the ass chewing, if he wanted to he could've thrown him off the line, which he didn't. |
WTF does that matter???? like the RO would "draw down? Its also on the poll
mjohn3006 was ALREADY LEAVING. You would know that, if you actually read before posting . ![]()
