Over the past 6 months I have been listening to alot of Air America Radio, and over the past month I have spent alot of time trolling leftist blogs. Some of these blogs make the DU look like McCarthyites. It is my assessment that the platform of the left is:

1. Hate Bush
2. Impeach Bush
3. Undermine the war on terror and discredit the military
4. Support Abortion
5. Gay rights

As far as I can tell, that's about it right now. Sure, there are other causes within the left's idealogy (like handouts for deadbeats and gun confiscation) but these are not really what the left is using to try and reach out to people. The public platform of the left is really exactly as I stated.

Any who, I have come to the point where I can no longer stand the left in America to any degree. They ARE without question and almost without exception Al Queda fifth columnists, devout communists, homophobic (it's true, you would not believe the amount of anti-homosexual comments they spew at people who disagree with them) morons who willingly and enthusiasticly seek ways to delude themselves into a comfortable ignorance. Now, you would think that someone who spent 6 months (actually closer to 7) listening to nothing but Al Franken, Randi Rhodes, Mike Malloy, Jerry Springer and Janeane Garafolo while debating the most hardcore liberals around would have picked up some liberal ideas. Like they say, garbage in garbage out. This has not been the case for me. In fact, they have made me more conservative, more pro-gun, more pro-free market, more anti-communist, more pro-military, and a bigger Bush apologist. I could go on and on, but I won't. My point is that all of their rhetoric, all of their bile, all of their propoganda and all of their lies have pushed me farther away from their point of view than I ever thought possible. These people hate America and I in turn have become disgusted with them.

You left out "Ban Guns"... but the left spread the word to keep quiet on this subject for now, and they would take revenge on gun owners the next time they got back into power.

You forgot a couple:

1) Get Rove fired.

2) Get Rove arrested.

3) Get Hillarah back in the White House.

4) Defeat every Republican now in office.

Not necessarily in that order, I might add.

The abolition of all gun laws is a truly liberal cause.  HAHAHAH!  Like that'll ever get on the agenda...

Like you, I listen to public radio.  The bullshit that is pumped out is phenomenal.  It makes me more against what they stand for.  One thing you forgot, "free" health care for everyone in this country.  Not just citizens, everybody.  The one thing that they never mention, is who is going to pay for it.

Why, the "rich", of course!

I agree with you here as I have no time for leftists or socialists.  I will speak with a liberal though, although many are hoplessly niave.

There is an ultimate irony in the 'American Socalist' cause.  I submit that these people are employed off the government tit already, or are unable to survive in the private marketplace and desire the security and structure of government style employment.  What's the irony?  The fact that they very people they can't compete with in the private arena would fall right back into the competitive arena with them in a socalist structure.  A go-geter is a go-geter, and would badly show up a socialist in terms of performance.  IMO, this is why NO SOCIALIST sees themselves starting at the bottom of the heap when their dream society is created.  They will always put themselves at the top from the start, as they would be unable to get there in a meritocracy.

But don't for a moment think that there aren't some crazy conservatives that would love to use the power of government to further their own agendas.  For an exampe, take Ann Coulter.  I have heard her say that gay marriage should be banned at the federal level, and that liberal states shouldn't be allowed to legalize it.  Shortly thereafter on another topic where she agrees with the states, she gets on her stump and cries federalism and states rights...

They believe healthcare to be a fundamental right/moral issue, instead of a commodity to be bought and sold on the open market.
