I know there are appx. 1750+ KIA in Iraqi so far but I heard on the radio that if you die off the battlefield it's not counted in that total.  Guy said more like a few thousand were dead. Is this correct?

I don't have the figures, but there are always non-combat deaths, as in vehicle accidents or suicides.

it all depends whose list you're going off. the military has about 10,000 different formats for cas lists so folks can take their pick as to whatever lie they want to pimp...

fucking .gov isn't fucking hiding ANYTHING...it's all out there and you don't even have to fucking try hard to find whatever the fuck you want...

not you personally...

There was thread here a couple of weeks ago, some guy was claiming we had lost 10.000 troops. His info was totally trashed. He got it from some liberal website. All deaths are counted even those wounded who died later.

Can someone post a link to that thread, please?

I have todays issue of Stars and Stripes right here on my desk. It listss 1772 service members have died since the start of the war. 1361 as a result of hostile action and that figure also includes 5 military civilians. That does not include the 60+ of my fellow co-workers killed while supporting the troops. (contractors.)

I tried looking for it but could not find it. It may have been trashed. It got ugly pretty quick when the guys info was totally debunked.

Differences in the figure can also come from different meanings for the term " Casualty"  to some it is only the death of asoldier on the battle field,  others might say a casualty is any type of death, or injury regardless of the cause.

No matter how high the number, we should all do our best to remember all of them, and honor their sacrifices in the defense of our nations freedoms.
