Surpising?

On Roe v. Wade ALONE he is disqualified to sit on the Court

Why?   Why can't you be a SC Judge if you believe in LIFE?   Why does that disqualify you?

During the days of slavery, I suppose it was okay to say "on freeing the negroes, that ALONE disqualifies him from sitting on the court"?

Not to make light of the situation...but DU freaks out for anything.

DU Poster: "What day is it today?"
Random person: "Wednesday"
DU Poster: "OMG ITS WEDNESDAY! OMG! HOLY SHIT! WE'RE DOOMED! KARL ROVE MADE TODAY WEDNESDAY WHEN IT SHOULD CLEARLY HAVE BEEN THURSDAY! IT'S BUSH'S FAULT! OMG!"

Nothing there surprises me anymore...

Me to, up to a point, sometimes I have to give that place a rest for a few weeks.  It's painful to watch a bunch of mentally ill lunatics agree with each other on some of the most out of this world fucked up theories.  I cant even begin to understand how their minds work, I guess thats a good thing.

OMG! *CRY* Parents may not be allowed to kill their unborn children in certain states in the future and might have to start actually being responsible in their choices and not produce babies on a whim!

The way I see it, the pro abortion argument is BS. Isn’t it national law that any mother can take their unwanted baby to a police or fire station and drop the baby off, no questions asked period? I know it’s that way here in Arizona. In fact it happened a month or two ago. Unfortunately parents would rather kill the kid before it’s born or even leave it in a dumpster or god forbid a damn porta-potty after they have the baby in secret.

Here's one of the issues nobody around here or DU seems to be acknowleging.  Roberts' stand on Roe v. Wade is not primarily based on his ideaology.  He stance is that the Supreme Court had no consitituional responsibility or authority to be rule on the issue.  It is a power deligated to the States or the People by the 10th amendment.

Most poeple (left and right) are letting their own emotions put words in Roberts' mouth.

My hope is that if Schumer asks his "What 3 SC decisions do you disagree with?" question during confirmation hearings that Roberts decides to answer it this time.

"Actually Senator, I only disagree with one former SC decision.  Marbury v. Madison (1803)"

Judge Roberts' stance on that decision will tell me more about him than anything else ever will.

ETA: My belief is that such a response from Roberts will shut the libby's up as they'll have no idea what in the hell that case was about.

If that was the national law I would have no problem with outlawing abortion.   Last I checked it wasn't.

Unless he's found alone neeked with a dead girl or a live boy before the confirmation vote in the Senate, HE'S THE ONE.

Not attempting to be too blunt - but I'm just IMO stating facts based on the past track record. All the Democratic protests and gyrations could prove only to feed the beastie media spinmeisters to quote us out of context. The RW noise machine pundits' only purpose in life is to perserve and promote the Executive Branch's initiatives ... PLUS coming in at a close second, they also are tasked to satiate the fanatical Right Wing base of the Republican Party.

That doesn't mean, in any way shape or form that he personally supports, or doesn't support that position.

And CA,

doubt it's a Federal Law somehow babies aren't interstate commerce OR THEY BETTER NOT BE!!!.  The Feds mandating actions by the locals and not funding it is one of the things that Roberts doesn't like. Especially when there is little or no constitutional justification.

What I wonder is,

Where is this army of dems that Skinner thinks he has at his disposal?

All you ever hear is

"We are going to oppose this"

"We are going to oppose that"

"We are going to camp out on the lawn until we get what we want"

AND NOTHING EVER HAPPENS!!!
