Headed down to the local Half Price Books to pick up some more Patricia Cornwell books today. As usual I browsed the Military/War/Guns section before leaving. Stuck in the bottom of a cardboard box I found a first edition, two volume set of Interarmco's International Armament by George Johnson and Hans Lockhoven ca. 1965 complete with an errata sheet and intact dust jackets. I had never heard of the books but am familar with Interarmco (now Interarms) and their connection with the Garcias and the brush fire wars of 60's. Exercise your Google-Fu on Samuel Cummings and, Interarmco aka Interarms. The books are fairly technically detailed and there is a decent section on the COLT/Armalite AR-15 and the Armalite AR-10 so I took them up the counter to find out the price. The tab was $27 with the two Pat Cornwell books. Seems I did rather well There is a second edition now available. I think this site needs a book section |

Right now I'm looking for reasonably priced copies of Whelan's Small Arms Design and Ballistics Cummings' Everyday Ballistics and the 1959 edition of Naval Ordnance mentioned in Ackley's Shooters and Reloaders book. I think the blow ups mentioned in the book can be related to the blow ups seen in ARs. |
