If you were riding a horse on the side of the road, and you were drunk. Could you be charged with DUI.

I think it depends on the state/county/township/city/town/villiage you live in. If nothing else, I'm sure you could be arrested for "Drunk in Pub-LICK ah".

Around here, I think the Sherrif's deputy would chuckle for a while on a slow night watching you, before he decided that the horse has had enough.

In Michigan, the DUI law specifically states, 'Operating motor vehicle while intoxicated...', with no reference to horses. My guess is that you could get ticketed for some 'public drunkeness' type offense, but not under the letter of the DUI laws.
