i recently found out that there is more to the internet then porn... by accident of course... but its still wierd... did you know they have "news" on this thing .. ?

DirecWay sucks (I say this as a DTV installer). HOWEVER, there is a new service that will be replacing DirecWay, called WildBlue. It is half the price to install, much better performance, a lot less latency, and a smaller dish. For folks in the boonies who can't get cable modems or DSL, check out WildBlue. -Troy |
There is still SOME latency, though, due to the distance to and from the satellite, and we've been advised that at least some VPN solutions won't work acceptably (you get forced to log in constantly). The WildBlue service is still fairly new, and they are working to get as many things pre-certified for it as possible. A straight terminal session should be a LOT better than DirecWay though. -Troy |
