At my Dairy Queen, we have this thing that you can put money into to donate it to the Childrens Miracle Network.  It's has all sorts of little shoots and slides and even one of those whirlpool coin things on top.  Kids love begging money off their parents to put in it.  Unfortunitly, some punk ass little shits, usually teenages, stick napkins and wrappers in it.  This probably wouldn't bother me so much if I could get into it to clean it out.  It takes two keys to open.  I have one and the guy who comes to empty it has one.

Any way, as I was standing at the counter, right at close tonight, a woman brought her little girl up to me and said "tell him what you did."  The little girl said, in a tiny little voice and somewhat tearfully, "I put a toothpick in the thing(indicating the coin drop)".  I told her that it was okay and that we would get it out.

This made me feel good that there are still some parents out there who teach their kids some form of responsibilty.  I'm all for a little spanking when needed, but I don't think that it would have been appropriate to this situation.  Making the child fess up to what they've done, teaches them that they are responsible and acountable for their actions.
