Anyone know how to file for non-profit status? I belong to an emergency communications group and it's an all volunteer group who will handle communications in an emergency. Like during hurricaines, tornado's, terrorist acts, etc.. We use our own ham radio equipment and, as a group, would like to be able to accept donations. But, have you seen the paperwork the IRS gives you to file for the 501(c)(3)? You have to be a rocket scientist (or an accountant) to understand it! Anyone know how to do this or is there an accountant that wants to do some pro bono work? |
No...Can't do LLC with a non-profit "group".. Has to be a corporation ![]() That's another problem is finding an attorney that'll do the corporation papers pro bono... My bro-in-law is an attorney, but he wouldn't even donate blood for free... (Then again, he's an attorney and therefore has NO blood other than that he has sucked from his clients!) ![]() Difference between a lawyer and a arrogant rooster? The rooster clucks defiance! j/k you wonderful lawyers out there.. |
Naw, you don't owe me anything. But, I do need help. I will talk with the group and let you know what we come up with... Thanks |
