After about two years of thinking about it I finally bought an AR today. Its a Rock River CAR A4 flattop.

I'm think of doing this:
Replacing the A2 buttstock with an A1. A friend has one (I'm short and I understand the A1 will fit me better.)
Remove the Tactical Carry Handle Assembly

and put on a DPMS Detachable Rear Sight and a GG&G F.I.R.E. System Rail in scout length.

Then I can install an Elbit Falcon optic and still have iron sights.

Sound like this should work?
