I purchased a house recently that has a deck built onto the back. Was wondering if anyone here had any suggestions for a protectant, such as thompsons water seal, or something along those lines. Thanks for  any input.

I think I used Thompsons.

Get the little pump-up plastic spray bottle - makes it WAY easier to do

Hmmmmm, that might be a good idea! I wonder how much that would cost?

Thompsons is garbage, like rubbing a candle on a piece of wood.
Behr makes the good stuff

I think it's Behr that has a new multi-year product with silicone in it. No other product has lasted me more than one year, here in SoCal.

Seems like Behr might be the way to go. Any other suggestions?

Yes, get the longest lasting (read:more expensive) stain/sealant.  We had the same situation and the (1) year crap sucks hind tit.       Get the (3) year stuff although it doesn't exactly last that long either.......it will keep you from doing it a year or 2 later.

Ditto on the Behr. You can get it at your local Home Depot.
