But I will be carrying, terrorists or no. Besides, I don't see anything restricting terrorists to bombings only. edited to add: oh and for whoever said it, yes, terrorists includes other people who kill women and children, muslim or not. Israel also has some form of an armed, civlian militia, don't they. We don't have a "formal" version of this. Israel is also an island among people who hate them and who have, or had, relatively free access to their general public. Their domestic terrorism issues makes ours look like a Sunday picnic. I find it hard to compare anything that happens in Israel to anything that would/could happen here in the US, but things can change. |

I definetly agree that you can not compare terrorism in Israel with it in the US, but the one story I read was just a regular civilian and he shot dead a suicide bomber before the bomber blew himself up. I certainly don't think a bunch of people with CCW's could stop someone who wants to blow himself up. but there is that unusal case where it could happen. A CCW is no where near the best defense but it's the only one I have, so it's better than nothing. |

More often than you think. Since allowing their citizens to go around armed violent attacks HAVE gone down compared to the time before. |
. I have no doubt that other types of attacks are more rare with armed citizens. From what I have heard the most effective tool that has reduced bombers from targeting buses in Israel is putting buckets of pig guts and lard on buses

They'll just rig them as 'dead man' switches. Before they reveal themselves (if at all) they depress the switch. If they let go--such as when you shoot them--it goes off. Or they rig it so that if they go horizontal, the bomb goes off. So they arm the bomb, walk into the bank/deli/whatever, you see them, you shoot, they fall down, boom. Jim |
