RANT ON , OK I know a couple of you guys by sight , who Ive run across shooting . The place I shoot is like Gods own country and in the National Forest . Its the place where Lexington Arms had a "Black Rifle Shoot" a couple years ago . (Thanks to Lexington for showing me arfcom)A freind showed me that spot 10 years ago , I LOVE that place . In the last couple of summers the trees have been taking a pounding . Not the tree above the burm so much they are mostly SOL , but the trees that are shade trees at and about where we shoot . Some IDIOT has nearly shot one of the best ones down just this summer , and sereral have been shot down the last few years . I've about had it so I put up a cardboard sign That says "Dont shoot the trees" and I'll turn in the person I see doing it .
One of my fellow shooters has informed me Via the sign "That He'll turn me in for tacking a sign to a tree" (I hadnt even thought of that ). Plus theres a fresh Hole just above the sign in the tree I put the sign on , clean thru 14 " Dia. tree .
Now I'm startin to wonder if the sign might actually encouage "Tree Shootin" . Trees in the mountians 14" in Dia. are probably 50 years or more old . Thats what the guy who used to own the land told me . I'd like to have more eyes on the place . Im not talkin about shooting of any kind , campin , campfires , even havin a couple of beers and having fun . I'm Talking about deliberate destuction of these wonderful old trees . RANT OFF Rocklock

What do most people do when they see a "no shooting" sign up in the woods? They shoot it............
