I had a guy build a dirt track car for me, and he totally screwed it up. It won't pass tech and the roll cage is off far enough door skins won't go on. Body is twisted, trunk lid over laps quarter panel 1/4 inch on one side gap the same as over lap. Also had some parts stolen out of it at his house. He said tough luck. Hows the best legal way to handle this besides putting him in a coma. Any good lawyers in TN. I'm afraid I'm going to have to get medieval on his azz.

you shouldn't have paid him in the first place...but...

if its under 5K you could go to The People's Court and see Judge Milian(sp).  shes hot and you could get your money back

ETA:  you could give judge mathis a call also, maybe judge judy so she can fuck the guy up for you.

Write a formal letter stating that this is not what you contracted for, explain how it does not meet your specs.

Are you willing to let him fix it, or do you just want the money back?

State in letter what you want to happen next.  'You have until 5PM 7/7/05 to refund money in full or I will pursue legal action and attach your bank account'   or 'You will bring the vehicle up to the specified standards by 7/30/05'

Send it by registered mail to his house and place of business.
