Is there a way to create a PDF out of a paper document (I know that can be done) that then can have user fillable fields on teh document?

(I also know thats possible - the Title ii Form 1 and Form 4 I see online)

But can I take one of my docs, and create a PDF with user fillable fields??

Thanx!

You need the full version of Adobe Acrobat.  Then you scan in the paper document, import it to Acrobat, and make the boxes for the fields.  It's pretty easy to do once you have the software.

First, you need to purchase Vision123 software. Then, after downloading it, unzip it into your "EXE.FIT" file, any other file and your hard-drive won't be able to correctly establish reading lanes. Finally, import the sub-chapters "B" through "S" onto a CD or memory stick.

Follow the instructions provided after that. You should be good to go.

Yes it is,

Also if you have a scanner, the software that came with it should have an OCR option to create a microsoft document, that is then editable.

We use the HP scanjet software here.

I may be wrong (it's happened once before), but I think distiller is a sub-program that acts as a printer to allow importing of documents that way.  Adobe.com lists the product as Acrobat Acrobat 7.0 Standard.

I use Acrobat and Distiller every day in my job as a graphic designer. Acrobat can be used to make a doc with fields. Distiller is a standalone program Adobe put out that creates a virtual printer that allows you to print/save any doc from your computer in it's native software, and create a PDF read-only doc from it.

Those who said the full version of Acrobat is required are correct.

Do you have a digital copy of it?

I could make an editable one for you, (not PDF but in .doc)

The Acrobat Distiller is part of the full Adobe program.  The Acrobat Distiller is your "virtual printer".  When you make an Adobe file from Word, Excell, or any number of other programs, you "print" and chose the Acrobat Distiller as your printer in the Print Dialog box.

It is possible to make forms where the user can fill in the blanks.  I use tax forms from the state like that.  I don't know how to make them, but I know it can be done.
