Got my pop-up problem largely solved with a trial version of STOPzilla. However, now my java scripting doesn't work (I am doing this post on my laptop.) I went into the internet explorer security settings and all the scripting options are enabled. Other problem is that my search feature is disabled so I can't search for files (found the names of what I need to delete, but I can't search them out.) Amazingly frustrating. Any advice? ETA can't even open Hotmail or post to here. Considering I have reloaded XP twice in the past week, I finally had this fixed and then some fucking shit from Big-boys.com killed all this work. |

Forget Internet Explorer and use another browser. I like Mozilla. Also start useing Microsoft's AntiSpyware program. It's currently in beta and a free download from the Microsoft website. I've been using it for months and it is FAR better than all the other anti spyware/adware programs combined (adware, pestpatrol, spybot, etc.). |

try to reinstall IE... go to the control panel then add-remove programs then ADD REMOVE WINDOWS COMPONENTS.. should be about the 4rth one down. uncheck it click next and then restart the computer. once ints restarted to the same step to reinstall it. once you've done that reset IE to default settings. go to control panel then internet options then advanced tab, at bottom right click restore defaults!! if your running xp put your xp cd in the cd-rom drive.. cancel the autorun. go to start then run, then type cmd then press enter. then type as dos prompt sfc /scannow this might take a while, make sure you have the XP cd in the cdrom drive. then do all your windows updates link if none of this works download firefox or maybe opera... as a workaround, but with the problems you've had i would highly suggest a fresh install. (symantec used to make a util to disable and enable javascript but i can't find it anymore) if you are using nortons antivirus you might try to install it reboot and see if the web page works |

I remember following a link to a video on Big-boys a week or so ago. My system ran a bit slower so I decided to run all my spyware. My system was clean according to Spy sweeper, Ewido, Spybot, Microsoft, Avast and Ad-Aware. I ran the Trend-Micro anti-spyware and it caught another cookie and what looked like a registry key with not_a_virus/Pornware in it. Of course my system is probably bogged down with all the spyware programs I have running. ETA I don't go to porn sites. |
