Just recently started having trouble with my home pc...

Discovered "msshed.exe" running on my machine...  It seems to bog everything down.  When I hit "Ctrl-Alt-Del" it shows up in the running processes. If I "End process" everything starts working again....

How do I get this fukker out of my 'puter ???

It slipped past Norton, my linksys router, spybot s&d, and Ad Aware SE...

TIA....

go to the run menu, and type "msconfig"

Click on the startup tab.

Then find it on the list, and whatever else you dont want running, and uncheck them from the list.

If that doesnt get rid of it, there is probably a guide somewhere for removal, just go a google search.

msshed.exe is some spyware/adware crap, you might try the beta Microsoft anit-spyware program and see if it can remove it or otherwise there are some manual ways to do it if you google msshed.exe

Probably a virus or spyware.

Get and run spybot, adaware, and ccleaner.  Also run antivirus.

If that doesn't work, you may need a dedicated removal tool for whatever it is.

Some spyware is REALLY tough to remove.

If all else fails, save your volitile info, reformat, and reinstall.

I wonder why anyone who knows anything about computers are still called "geeks".  Tech skills are more and more important and people who don't have those skills will soon be left behind.

It depends what generation you're from...

I graduated in '85... Our HS didn't even have a computer in it back then.

I'm happy to be left behind... all the "computer skills" in the world, won't help you change a head gasket or build a deck...
