| And I've got tickets for the Finals! |
|
Wow, you know what that means? Well it means................ Well mostly all it means is I when I go to work tomorrow I will be forced to listen to a bunch of blatherings on about how the Sun's would have won if they'd had done this or not so much of that and the Spurs would have lost if it weren't for that and........ On the bright side. The Basket Ball Season is over for Phoenix now.

Yeah, I know David Schmidt (he's an ass). I've had season tickets for 9 years. We pay for playoff tickets in Feb/March and that way get our regular seats throughout the playoffs. |
Umm, San Antonio's not a particularly rich town. The superiority of our basketball team does not dictate the state of our economy. I don't know HOW you'd expect us to throw more money at them than NY can. PS... astro: are you a big Astros fan living in San Antonio? Sorry if you hate Houston and this offends you, but just wondering... and also how much are season tix? |
No, he probably thinks Peter Holt is some kind of Daddy Warbucks. Not knowing the old City Council DEMOLISHED the Hemisphere Arena, forcing the Spurs to play in a substandard facility, the Henry Cisneros "Dead 'dillo Dome" (four huce columns on the corners look like a dead armadillo), a facility made for NFL but never used. So the Spurs have a new facility. It was done to keep the Spurs and it has the best sponsorship in the league. SBC Comms grew to the size that enabled it to buy its former parent, AT&T after the government mandated split off of the "Baby Bells". |
I thought they still used it for the Alamo Bowl and whatnot. Yeah... let's just say you need to be packing when you go down to the SBC Center. I used to think it was going to be this grand facility on its own plot of land, but no, damn, it's smack in the ghetto. I was bored and trying to find it one night, and I'm like, whoops, got to the wrong side of town. |
Actually, Astro is the name of my dog. I used to live in Houston, though (went to Med School there). My seats, which are NOT the best in the house are in the section above the first row of luxury boxes behind the visitors' bench. They are about $85/game each. I pay the same for playoff tickets, although as the playoffs progress, the face value increases. My tickets for the finals list at $175 each, but I could sell them for 10 times that come game 6 or 7. |
Holy crap... that's a lot of money. The seats sound alright, though. |
