My riding mower is T.U. I only have 1 acre but it takes 3+ hours to push mow.
I hate to pay $1000 for a cheap P.O.S. Is a John Deere mower worth the extra $$$?
They start at $1400 and go up from there. I did see one at Home Depot today on sale for $1300.
It will only be used to mow,I have quads for trailer/plow duty.
If I have a good rider the wife will mow it! Thanks for the input.

I am still using a 1986 John Deere 318. It has 1057 hours on it and it runs like new. Starting now to see some rust in the foot support area and will be sanding and painting this year. If you buy JD you will still be using it when you are an old man.

That is good because today I purchased an '05 John Deere  L111.
20 HP V-twin, hydrostatic-automatic/with cruise. 42" cut.
It is a sweet mower and alot faster. My grass was LONG, took less than an hour and a half.
My old mower at normal grass length would have taken at least 2. To push mow it takes 3-4 hours and alot of sweat.
Quality only hurts once.
