For those who have them on their cars, how well do they work? I am looking to decrease wind noise for when I am driving on the highway at a high rate of speed with my windows rolled up. Do they work for that?

I would get them simply to keep the rain out when you "crack" open a window.
In the old days, cars had gutters, opening the door prevented the deluge or water or snow from landing on the seat.
Excessive wind noise with windows rolled up is something I just have never heard yet.

Vent windows are great. I had a Lincoln Town Car with power vent windows that slid down before the window did... those weren't as good as the actual crank-out vent windows. It seems like they started to go away in the late 60's. The 1967 Camaro had them, but the 68 didn't, and it was an almost identical car, except for the mandated side-marker lights. I guess it didn't look very "race-like" because race cars always had the side windows removed. Vent windows just didn't look serious enough, and it became a trend that is common today, especially with A/C being so common place now. In the "old days," air conditioning wasn't so common, especially in the colder regions. In the summer, we'd just open the car windows if it got too hot.

Vent windows are handy if you smoke, because you can flick the ashes out the vent, and the open vent draws the smoke out.
