Just heard on TV that they have stopped production on the Chapelle show. They didn't have any details yet and I can't find any info on the web yet. I think it was Inside Edition but I wasn't in the room when I heard them say it. ETA: It was on E! not Inside Edition. Linkage |

Like most standups, he has a assload of ideas. Now, he's done. It's a deal he did......He used race to get attention. Whatever...........Average comic, he made money, now, he's done. Boo-hoo. He already probably has more money than I willever have. My heart bleeds. |

My buddy who does TV work told me the insidide rumor was that Chappelle was mad at Comedy Central for becoming the "Blue Collar" haven over the last year. Reportedly he felt alienated with the shift towards the larry the cable guy-type stuff. I truthfully didn't expect him to return after hearing that, it makes perfect sense to me. Take it for what it's worth, I'll take Chappelle over Bill Engvall any day |
So he basically made it a White vs. Black thing? |
I'm not following the logic (or lack therof) in that. Please explain. |
Monday nights on Comedy Central now is the "Blue Collar Comedy Hour" and showing endless repeats of Bill Engval, Larry the Cable Guy, Jeff Foxworthy and Bill White, all comics of the white working class Southern genre. Dave sees this as an assault on his ghetto, victim-card, urban "American of African descent" ebonics-speaking, rap-loving, racist thug image. |
