Here are my needs/parameters. Must be acceptable in a corporate environment with coat and tie. Double as casual, not afraid to wear in the yard. Waterproof/resistant - we have a pool, it's a must. Don't need/want a lot of gadgets on it - time, maybe date, stop watch Price range $200-$400 roughly. Any suggestions appreciated! |

There are some GREAT deals in that range on www.overstock.com . I've bought a lot of stuff from there and it's ALL been well worth the cash. Have a look. |
I have this one and I like it. Never needs a battery.![]() www.4-watches.com/citizen/bn0000-04h.html |

The only watch I have EVER OWNED..... A SEIKO CHronograph sports 150.... Had it for 15 years now. changed the battery once, for like 2$. Warns you a year in advance when it needs changing i have beaten the hell out of it, yet it still looks brand new, and hasnt gone out of style. i still get compliments on it from all types, ranging from homeys to the elderly |
| +1 on the Seiko Divers or the Citizen above. Depending on where you live, there are Seiko outlet stores around the country that you can get some very nice deals at. They also carry Pulsar watches. The Seiko Divers are very rugged and durable. I own 5 different styles of them. Just sent a couple back to Seiko to be refurbished/serviced (Case polished, new batteries and pressure testing for water resistance) after 10 years of wear and abuse. |
![]() www.princetonwatches.com/shop/AT0100-51A.asp I have the watch above. It is not nearly as shiny as pictured and it can go from suit to polo shirt with no problems. I paid something like $210 shipped from an ebay watch vendor. It uses ambient light to charge a battery, it can sustain a charge for 180 days if it was in total darkness. It's water resistant to 200M. Screw in crown. I really like it. It is also very light. |

Another vote for Seiko! You can get a quality watch for $200 (or less). How's this one for $180? I couldn't find the one I have, which is a titanium Seiko perpetual calendar model with a black face. http://www.bluedial.com/SNA107.htm If you don't like that one, check out the other offerings from BlueDial. They ship free and they will size the watch to you for free. I am not affiliated with BlueDial or Seiko in any way. |

+1 for the Citizen Eco-Drive. I have a titanium dive watch, with a white face. Perfectly acceptable for dress wear (although I have a gold Citizen Eco-Drive for REALLY dressy wear). I have worn this one for 10 years and love it. Never needs a battery. Case is extremely corrosion resistant. I wear it everywhere! Looks as good as the day I bought it for $250. |
I just bought a Luminox and love it. I paid about $425. I think it's very high quality for a quartz watch. It's a big watch which I like. I have a few other mechanical watches and bought the Luminox for a knock-around-watch. It glows very bright in the dark and is easily read in movie theaters etc. This is the Luminox chrono that I have:Link |
I wear a stainless steel Rolex, and love it. Flawless function, good looking, solid as a tank. That being said... Your post is fuckin stupid. Many, MANY people can't afford a Rolex..and there are plenty of very high quality watches that are MUCH less expensive. Can you reread your post and not think how fuckin' stupid it sounds? (rhetorical question, in case you're confused) |

Suunto makes a nice steel body and band watch, I cannot remember the model number. But, it has a black face, and the digits are a subdued yellow/gold. It would fly and it's a very nice watch. I prefer Tag Heuer. Rolex's are for people who care more about looks than time, I have seen about half of my friends send them in for repairs. These are the GMTs and what not. Lot's of people I know have had great luck with their Citizen's and Seiko as well. |
I was being sarcastic. It was obvious from my use of the classic "teh ghey" phrase. Get a sense of humor you fucking moron. |

Seiko Perpetual Calender, Titanium. I've been wearing this for about 3 years now...it's a great watch. Looks good no matter what I'm doing/wearing, and it's still mostly scratch-free (the bracelet has a couple of scratches, but that's to be expected, seeing as how hard I am on watches). |

+1 on the Seiko and Citizen. I have been a Citizen dealer for 15 years now and have sold thousands of watches. Only a few have come back for repairs, and Citizen has fixed them all free of charge. The watch I'm wearing right now is one of the original Eco-Drives, the Solar Tech 180 titanium 200 meter water resistant. I wear it almost every day for the last 9 years and it's still in great shape. You can't go wrong with Seiko either. I carried those for many years too but went with Citizen exclusively due to the solar powered watches and better warranty(5 year vs. 3 year). |
