I like the stuff but don't usually make it myself. I bought some Sunday and noticed that when I opened the jar it had built up some pressure (as evidenced by the sound of expanding gas). Then, as I went to stick a fork into the jar, I noticed that the liquid was bubbling. I don't remember seeing this before. Does anyone know if this is normal and, more to the point, is it safe to eat? TIA |
Why I was a kid, the biggest minority in our schools were the Koreans. I always wondered why they all had that same weird spicy smell about them. |

Cabbage Kimchi I LOVE, the radish kimchee my partner loves, I can DO it, but don't LIKE it. It's SAFE to eat the way you described, but _I_ don't like it when it's that far "gone"... we usually get ours at the Asian Foods store... I know it when I SEE it, but I don't recall the name. :/ I like my Kimchee COLD and pretty fresh, and CRISP :) mmmmmm-mmmmmmm. |
Lol...I've tried....I've even taken him to a Korean restaurant...he told me it was alright...but I could just see in his face that he hated it. But, I'm also used to it. My mom refused to let me bring kimchi in the house. |

The first time I had it was at a little family storefront eatery way off the whore strip in Pohang. The mamasan cut us off from the beer, showed us how to use rice to take the edge off (along with the lecture about how japanese are stupid because they don't use spoons for rice). Then she kept the cokes coming... |
