CPL ages? > General Discussion

I went to a CPL renewal class and most of the guys there were over 40. Myself and one dude were the only ones anywhere near 30. Several of the guys were in their 60s. Is there data showing the age range of CPL holders?

Also in Michigan CCW has been changed to CPL. People were arguing that a CCW allowed you to carry any weapon concealed but CPL is much more specific to pistols.

when I got my CCW permit about half the class was over retirement age, there was even one old WWII vet getting his for the first time using a US Property marked 1911A1.

I am in my twenties, the general shooting community makes me feel very young. I know quite a few young people who shoot, but I definitely hear what you are saying.

Usually we are the one's with the most spendable money, the ability to purchase what we want, and have a bit less sense of invunerability. We also tend not to carry unless we are legal as we have more to lose.

what does CPL stand for? concealed pistol license? so If that is true I guess revolvers are out huh?

I was 32 when I first got my CCW. I was the youngest or 2nd youngest in the class. VA also used to allow the CCW to mean any weapon, but now it is more specifically a CCH (carry concealed handgun). At least you don't have to have your carry pistols listed on the license here.

I think so. Revolvers are allowed though. Politicians, thats all you got say.
