[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Mail Order Meat?

One of the earlier posts tonight was about Buffalo meat. I had just been talking to my girlfriend about that. The only way I would be able to get it would be mail order. Like one of those Omaha Steaks type things. Has anybody ordered those? What are they like?

I've ordered from Omaha Steaks a few years ago. It was great. Absolutely no complaints at all.

Look up buffalo or bison farming. More than likely there is one in your state or close to you that you didn't know was there.

I like Omaha meat as well. My girlfriend's mom and grandmother send it too us all the time.

One of my neihbors did a lot of work at the local buffalo farm, he built all the cattle guards for the driveways and made some school buses into monster trucks so people can feed the buffalo from the safety of the bus.

The owner gave him a lot of steaks, they couldn't tell a difference in the taste, but it is a lot more expensive than beef. I like the fact that it is more healthy, but $$

Brother in Law's women is from Omaha and she's brought us some Omaha steaks and burgers to try.

I ate it and said, yummy tastes like steak.

I didn't notice a difference between their steaks and the ones at the local market.
