Yes, the airborne had BAR's. They were in drop bundles and many were lost or captured on D-day thus you don't see many pics of them. If you look at pics of MG or Bulge you see them in normal numbers. edited to add. Movies are terrible resources for authenticity. As good as BOB is, it still has several inaccurassies. |

Crossroads. When the krauts were firing the MG42 at apparently nothing, and Winters takes a squad to engage them at close range, he's telling each guy what to fire at, he tells the guy with the BAR to take out the machinegun. Of course, when the action starts, you can't really hear anything but the M1s... Then I think in the assault on Foy, you can see one BAR. I know there was one at one point in the episode on Market Garden. |
