Patty, I would go with A.  It is a good look, not to "old man-ish" if you know what I mean.  C is nice too, but red is usually reserved for business occasions.  If his date was wearing red, then that would be a different matter.

If you go with C, a real nice move would be to match the corsage to the red color of the tie.  This will definately impress his date and her parents too.
