Well since EVERYONE is drawn towards the collabsible stocks these days, I thought this would just be an interesting alternative. Don't get me wrong, I am partial to collabsible stocks as much as the next guy, but like I said, it is an interesting alternative. |

Ihonestly don't see the point in limiting oneself to a smaller than standard fixed stock. Even people who wear body armor a lot, still might have occasions when they might need their weapon while NOT wearing body armor - so to me, I don't see any advantage over a collapsible stock (or an adjustable one like the magpul), but I do see a potential downside. I suppose if it was for an armory rifles, only issues to SWAT teams, and they always wear body armor, then I guess it makes sense to save the money over an adjustable/collapsible stock. Otherwise, I'd avoid it. |

Defensive Edge Sully Stock reviewed by Pat Rogers The stock seems to be very well liked in high speed circles. After having a chance to shoot several rifles equipped with them I have been nothing but impressed. Even without armor, modern shooting techniques work better with a shorter stock. Longer stocks are fine for bladed long range match type shooting, but are a huge disadvantage in a gunfight. I personally had my M1A stock reduced to a 11.5” LOP. If you had any questions for Sully he posts in the industry section for his training company Defensive Edge. |

I am 6' 2", and the Sully stock puts my nose exactly to the charging handle when mounted in a squared, aggressive CQB-type shooting stance. It's about the same OAL as a 6-position collapsible stock extended to position 3 or so. That is to say it's short, but not overly short like the "entry" or "shorty" stocks that are the equivalent of a fully collapsed 6-pos. The Sully stock is also solid, rather than hollow. As such, it's got some weight to it, which is nice for balancing out front-heavy carbines with a bunch of crap hanging off the handguards. Downsides are the high price and the lack of a storage cavity inside. |

Here is a comparison photo of some fixed stocks: Stock type, design, benefits, length, and weight are really a matter of personal preference. The Sully Stock was invented to fill a need. I find that most shooters that use a collapsable and turn their torso square to the target will opt for the middle position of adjustment, approximate stock length of 8-1/8". I also greatly prefer a fixed stock for better cheek weld. A fixed stock will not collapse when you buttstroke to clear a stuck casing. And there is not a cam on a fixed stock to be depressed by a sling under firing which will cause the stock to collapse. The Sully stock is also built of a solid design to take the rigors of being abused. Abuse of dropping and banging. We wanted a fixed stock that was of a length that most shooters choose, and is extremely tuff and durable, that offers a good cheek weld, and doesn't allow the pulling out of moustache hairs. You can always get a large sized shooter to shoot too small of a stock, but you cannot get a small shooter to shoot too long of a stock. The Sully Stock was designed based on the above principles. Many Operators and Teams have chosen the Sully Stock over the collapsables based on those same reasons. If it works for you great!!! If not, then please find something that will!!! We just did a special color run in Coyote Brown for a SpecOps unit, of which will be available soon to all. We are also hoping to have the shotgun stock in production soon as well. That's interesting. Any one own one? |
It looks like it's leaning towards the bulky side. |
I will be one of the first in line for your shotgun stock once ready!! |

I have one and agree with some of the early posts - the benefit is that it is solid and quiet (when moving an firing). Most of my friend have approved. In addition - mine came with a free extension for the taller folks. It is very enjoyable (read e.g. little or no spring noise) to shoot. |
Right behind me |
Damn! And I thought I was the only one who got stash/beard caught and/or pulled out by collapsibles...! |
Well why don't you try shaving ya' hairy ape !
