At work we have large ovens for drying the paint on cars as they go down the line. In conversation, it came up that the company that makes these ovens is the same company that made the ovens for Hitler and the concentration camps. I'm just curious to know if this is true or not. The comapany that made them is DÜRR and has since merged with BAER IIRC. So, anyone know this little tidbit of info?

Thanks,
Kris

Whiskey Tango Foxtrot kind of question is that?

Seriously they were probably custom made on site by the military.

It was a German company who made the ovens. The name was mention in a PBS documentary, but I don't remember what it was.

They were probably built by forced labor.  Possibly by concentration camp occupants, who may have later been placed in the same oven.

I strongly doubt it was a "German government contract" to provide ovens to burn human remains.  Sounds like an urban legend kind of story!

Dude, the heat needed to cure water-based enamel paint and the heat needed to reduce a human body to ash aren't even in the same ballpark.

Not funny, children.

"Testimony at the Nuremburg war crimes trials suggests the ovens were mostly built by heating equipment manufacturers and such. The crematoria at Auschwitz were built by I.A. Topf and Sons of Erfurt, those at Dachau and Lublin by C.H. Kori GmbH."

You can always turn it up.

Thanks for the links on the history of it. I guess that clears up that little bit of bad info. And no, they didn't come with a pocket fisherman. Just a Jack Lelane Power Juicer

Hmm, I am sure the way of dealing with it is not leting it happen again. Humor some times isn't the best way to deal with something.

Would you find humor in the way a loved one died? I mean honestly lets say some one butchered some one you cared about, now find the humor in that? There is non because it is a very serious thing.
