I hooked a VCR to my digital cable box which is not hooked up to it on a regular basis to record a show. After getting it connected and doing a channel scan, I noticed the reception was very fuzzy. After disconnecting the VCR completely from the system I was still getting the same fuzzy reception as with the VCR. After rebooting the digital cable box, trying another cable line, switching cable boxes, bypassing the cable box completely, the cable is still fuzzy. I put a DVD in just to make sure it wasn’t the TV itself and the TV is fine. The other two TV’s with cable are clear like always. The VCR is now working fine on a TV/cable set without a cable box. Could the VCR have done something with that particular cable line to make it go fuzzy like that? Any help would be appreciated. |

I had some extra cable from when I built the house. Replaced the cable from the wall the the cable box and cable box to the TV and it seems to back to normal now. Got rid of the 2 cables that were there during the VCR switching out. I'm not sure but maybe the VCR did something to those 2 lines of cable. Luckily I had a cable cutting and crimping tool so making custom size lengths was easy. so much for a relaxing evening
