| I didn't agree with a lot of what this troll said. He was on the left and I am on the free-thinking right, but he did contribute to the forum even if it was only to get some people to examine their beliefs. His thread about dressing up Jesus may have been tasteless, but what if I made a thread about dressing up Mohommad? Most of you would laugh and I am pretty sure I would not get banned for it. Here we claim that we won't ban you for your beliefs yet this is what was done to Virginia22. |

I've never seen one single post of his that could in any way be considered a "contribution" to the forum. He's a shit stirring troll plain and simple. And what's that I read about his multiple accounts? Fuck him. Hope he's more comfortable with his cronies at DU. |

He was banned not for his beliefs (or lack thereof) or his ideology. He was banned for violating the CoC repeatedly, even after having been warned numerous times to stop. This site is NOT our personal playground. There are rules. Follow them or leave. Or be told to leave. Or be banned. Don't like it? Tough shit. |

I didn't read the thread about "Dressing up Jesus", however, I can see where rule number one of the CoC could have played a part in his departure: 1.) Posting derogatory comments of a racial, religious, or sexual nature. This includes your username, signature line, and title. Site Staff and Moderators reserve the right to edit these items and to remove your ability to modify them in the future. |

He was the perfect type of an annoying and immature buffoon. He thought he liked arguing, when what he liked was yammering. He refused to engage in any discussion, only flitting about enough to annoy and to try to offend. It is a sure bet that anyone who lives in a country where shacking up, siring babies out of wedlock, buttfucking men, welfare, burning religious icons, cursing God, and calling the President a fuckwit are not just legal but Constitutionally protected, and claims to worry about the religious right dictating his life is a complete waste of protein. A waste of protein is necessarily a waste of bandwidth. The problem wasn't that he disagreed with lots of people here, it was that he deliberately insulted, and then refused to actually debate. he occasionally rose to the level of "I know you are, but what am I," but those were rare moments of glory. If you want to say that Christianity is a myth, you can do so here, and defend your position all day long. What you can't do is chew up bandwith saying "Oh, bullshit. Go cower at the altar. Christianity is still a myth. By the way, I'll be shooting at a crucifix this afternoon" as though it were a "response" to the statement that there are more and more nearly contemporaneous accounts of the life of Jesus than of the life of Julius Caesar. One can cherish the hope that his real-world personality tracks his online persona just enough to earn him regular asswhippings. Good riddance to bad rubbish. |
You must have figured out what kind of place this was (or at least obtained the brain-fucked view of it you seem to hold) sometime before last month. WTF are you doing here? Is this the fiorst board you've joined for the purpose of criticing it? Have you considered getting a life? I mean, hanging out on a web board isn't much of a life; joining boards you don't like so you can mock and criticize them is something less. |

To hell with Chris. The guy knew HOW to debate issues in a non-trollish manner, as he demonstrated briefly in December after he was last warned, apparently. But if you read a couple months of his posts at a sitting, you can see a pretty clear pattern of outright trolling. Trolling is hard to define, but those of us who have been on the net since back in days of "usenet" certainly "know it when we see it." I commend the Mods for finally throwing out the garbage. One thing that Chris tried to do above all was poison the well here with derision. Sure, we don't all have the same views on everything. Chris's "gift," if you want to call it that, was to draw points of divergence into the forefront to the point where a lot of folks were at each other's throats unnecessarily. He knew better, but he just couldn't stop. For that, I say fuck him. |
