I got a call from the Owners today saying they've had complaints that people are not able to access our order form.  I went to the site and pulled the order form up perfectly but thought it would be nice to see if others could as well.

If you don't mind, could you please click on this link and see if an order form comes up?

Order Form

Thank you, very much!  Patty

Your order form is a .doc which is usually for Micorsoft Word.  I don't have Word (a lot of people don't) but I was able to open it in Wordpad (a free program with Windows).  I'm using Windows XP, maybe older versions don't open .doc's correctly in Wordpad?

Works fine. Have you considered learning a server-side scripting language and using a web form, instead? I've always hated printing something, filling it out, and mailing/faxing it when I shouldn't have to.

Not a flame (really!). It's just much more professional to handle orders with a web form.

Came up fine for me..  It downloads your word document, when clicked.  (1123.doc)

Only thing I see is the tables are a little off, on the form.  (lines don't line up)  But I'm guessing you're not asking about that, just whether it downloads fine.

So..... Yes

Yup, it's a doc ..... pdf is better format to use.... but better yet .... create a web form they can submit over the net and have it send you and email ...

I would take a screen cap of that order form and turn it into a PDF, then offer both .doc and .pdf order forms.

Some people with different browsers or operating systems might have trouble if you only give them one route to go.

Is's a Microsoft Word Document.
Maybe folks can't open it, if they don't have Microsoft Word.
I don't.  My computer opened it with Microsoft Office.

Being the nice guy I am, I saved it as a PDF file for you.
That would require folks have Adobe Reader, but almost everyone does.  It is free.

Here is the file.  Right click and "save as"

I was wondered about that too.  I will have to figure out how to save it in a pdf file.  I was worried too about Mac people.  The owners faxed a copy of an order form someone supposedly downloaded from the site and it doesn't look anything like what's up there.  I'll scan it in so you can see.

BTW, I know it's your buisness (not blaming or bashing you), but this is sad.

Leisure_Shoot already did the work for ya, now you just have to upload it to your webserver and add a link to the PDF next to the link to the DOC.

But I agree with the others in having a web based system, you can find them all over the internet.

i would recommend using a text file format (.txt).  all computers can open a text file while one must have word or acrobat reader installed on their computer for a .doc or .pdf.  why take the chance of losing a sale because someone doesn't have the required software installed when there is an easier solution?

I used www.openoffice.org/

It is a free version that is just as functional as Microsoft Office.
It has a wonderful PDF export function that I use all the time for work.

The owners refuse to have internet access so if I created a web based system it would all come to me and I would have to forward it to them.  Patty

They're not selling because my thumb hurts just looking at it. It's goofy looking. The AWB is over, so this thing has no real purpose. With the AWB in place, most (all?) of us would rather have a pistol grip than a flash supressor, bayo lug, or collapsible stock. Start there. You can tell him you heard it from me.

You're welcome! As a former Californian, I have a bit of a soft spot for Shoeless Ventures. I'd like to see them succeed, and even do better.
