I was at Albertson's yesterday and decided to finally give it a try.  I picked up a four pack.  I tried one a few hours ago.  It tasted ok but didn't produce any of their promoted affects.

Is this just a marketing gimmick?

Pretty much.....yeah.

I think so.  Once as a test, I drank one amp, one red bull and two adrenaline rushes at once, and all I got was an upset stomach.

I'm sure the exact effect varies from person to person.  Basically there's nothing that can be accomplished with Red Bull that can't be done better with Stacker IIs, but without the calories.

If you keep hydrated, eat a good diet, and, get enough sleep, you'll have very little use for stuff like that.  Kinda like these uber-vitamins.  All you really end up with is expensive urine.

I've given up drinking almost entirely.  I'll still have a few beers on the weekend but the hard stuff is out of the picture.

It does sound like it would be a good mix though.

It's just caffine.  If you drink a lot of caffinated beverages and have a caffine tolerance, the effect won't be very dramatic.  If you are a 17 year old who doesn't drink coffee it will probably have a strong effect.

I got the sugar free kind.  It has 0 sugar, 3 carbs, 0 fat, and 10 calories.  Maybe that makes a difference.

Sugar Free tastes like ass IMO.  The regular isn't bad.

There was an article on it in National Geographic recently (g/f gets NG, I'd never waste money that could be better spent on ammo). It's basically a can of caffiene with good marketing. The guy that started the company licensed it from some asian company that makes a similar product, but maybe not carbonated?

I'm enjoying a RedBull right now. I purchase them by the flat @ Sams. I have to disagree with some of you, It helps me, at 49 years young to keep up with my 11 and 7 year old daughters. Don't expect RedBull to spin you out like crank 'cause it don't, but it does vitalize body and mind.

I assumed that was the case.  I guess I'm just a sucker.  Live and learn...

I'd highly recommend staying off any vaso constrictors then.  Being a diabetic, I'm sure you have a handle on that already, but, there's no need to put your body through more stress than you need to.

Drink water, eat a well rounded diet.  Drive on...

[Combat Medic]Take motrin if ya got it[/Combat Medic]

Wake up for class after a night hard partying till 3am.  Drink 6 redbulls in a row and pop a multivitamin, then go to class.

Shew me a man who's not jittering like he just downed 2 pots of coffee after doing this it's probably because he doesn't have pulse anymore.

(true story by the way.  I REALLY had to piss after class and it was green )

btw, if it was a fad it would have died out already.  It's an exceptionally long lived fad.  It was already popular and available in every convenience store when I foolishly did the above my Freshman year in '98.

Good advice, goonboss.  Motrin works as a vasodialater too.

I spent some time in an airport bar with one of their PR guys (kids). Not a bad job, goes around to skateboarding, mountain biking events for the company. The article says they recruit basically pretty boy/girl college students and pay them pretty well to be reps on campuses.

Red Bull also has a lot of B vitamins and such in it. Not enough to make it healthy to drink on a regular basis, but it's better for you than most sodas.

I'm physically addicted to caffeine and this stuff will still keep me going all day no matter how dead tired I am.

If you REALLY want a rush, drink a bottle of Bawls. That stuff will make everyone else look like they're moving in slow motion. I got a couple friends who mix it with vodka and swear by it.

I went to the Bar and Nightclub convention in Vegas last week.  A convention hall the size of 3 football fields full of every type of beer, wine and alcohol you could imagine, with samples of all being given out by scantily clad beauties.

There were almost as many energy drinks there as there was everything else.  Best one I saw was called  "sum poosie".  Gorgeous looking chick handing this stuff out along with t-shirts and stickers that said "I got sum poosie from a bottle model".

I brought back a couple of six packs so all of my friends that have never seen it could taste sum poosie.

Edited to add their website.
