My Gateway has a soundmax lite version of some kind installed. I read that there are software upgrades available, but I have been unable to actually see where this is for sale. Anyone familiar with soundmax and laptops sound systems?

Soundmax website seems to have products for developers only. I don't see a retail product.

it looks like soundmax is part of the drivers for your laptop that you could download from gateway.  go to the gateway site and input the model # or serial # for your laptop and see what the latest drivers are.

Latest drivers = same ol same ol. No enhancments. Apparently soundmax allows features embedded in the intel chip.
