What do you do with the odd number of rounds left over?  I'm loading AK mags right now and had 10rds left over.  This time, I put them on a stripper clip for the SKS.  I suppose this wouldn't be a problem if I loaded my mags at the range.  But what a waste of time that is.

So, extra 5, 10, 15rds ...what do you guys do with them?  I hate loading my mags to below their capacity.  If I ever grabbed one for a SHTF situation I want to know there's 30rds in the 30rd mag and not 15 or 10.

Along with my range ammo cans, I have 2 other cans, one marked loose rifle and the other loose pistol.

All extra ammo from the range/loading goes in them and gets shot next range trip when its needed.

+1.  Most people will think you're just messy and don't pick up shit.  But really, it's never a bad idea to leave some loose ammo around the house.  Never know when you'll need to single-shot a zombie.

Last year I looked under my chair cushion and found a round or two of xm193.

I really don’t have that problem.

Pistol ammo is almost always emptied into .30 ammo cans.  So when I load up the magazines there is never any *loose rounds left over.  I may bring extra rounds that are still in their original boxes with me to the Range, but they are shot before I leave.

Rifle ammo is kept in their original box until I load the rounds in an MTM 50 or 100 round carry box.  When I get to the Range I load the rifle from the carry box.  The exception here is my M16.  I load the magazines direct from the box.  I may put extra on stripper clips, or I may put several boxes worth on stripper clips for use at the Range.

Either way, I use up all the rounds I take with me to the Range.  The rare exception is when I got rained on last year.

Otherwise I never have any rounds “Left Over” unless there is a malfunction with the firearm.

*Attention Arcomers who never Spell Check.  There is the difference between “Lose”, associated with ‘Lost’, and “Loose”, which is the apposite of ‘Tight’.  Got it?

I have two containers. One extra pistol, one extra rifle. They have quite an assortment of various odd rounds. Sometimes it gets full, sometimes its bone dry, but they constantly rotate in & out.
