My wife is out of town this week, so it is just me and the two cats.

I am laying in bed reading and the two cats are laying on the bed, and all of the sudden they both come to their feet and look out the bedroom door and down the hallway at something.

They are really staring, so I grab the M92 (if 15 rounds of 124 gr hydrashok won't help I don't know what will).

They both shift focus to a point just outside the door of the bedroom in the hallway, about chest high on a person and stare for several minutes. There was nothing there.

Cats being weird? Do I need to pack silver bullets? WTF, they both did it, and both from different points on the bed were looking at the same place

You looking for a solution?

Shot the cats and get a dog.

Probably a fly or something. My cat does that all the time.

mice in the walls?

Maybe, we had a mouse a few years ago get in and they beat it to death. They weren't in hunting mode on the bed, though, they were just staring like they do at us.

Ghost?  Animals have uncanny senses, we just have superior intelligence, can't see that far, smell very much, thin skin (no armor) and few in the way of offensive or defense weapons built in.

He only had 15 rounds of 9mm . At best he might finish off one
and slow down the second

Don't worry about it.

If they sit on your face and start staring upwards, it's time to worry.

Dude, that's major creepy.

Animals can sense or "see" things people can't.  Reading stories like this I'm not sure I'd want to see what they're seeing...or maybe I would...I don't know.  They were looking at SOMETHING.  They didn't both just randomly flip out at the exact same time and start exhibiting the exact same behavior.

I wonder what they saw? hinking.gif

They saw a fly, or  some reflected light off  something shiny made a spot on the wall.

Or they decided it was "freak out the boss" time.

17 rounds of 185 grains of Nosler HP's in a .45 Super?

Weird. I trust a cat sixth sense more than a dogs. Did their tails get all fat? Mine have done that also, and I did the same as you. Never saw anything, but I have cleared my basement a few times with my cat walking point. Scared the F*** outta me.

They're cats! What else do you expect? My cat is crazy as hell. She jumps up and just runs like hell over nothing. She stares at a spot on the carpet and attacks it.
Cats are a crazy as wimmens! Not by much though.

I have 2 cats and sometimes they both stare at the same spot (on the wall, floor, etc.) and seem to be following something with their eyes.  I dunno what though.

Ghosts!  Cats always know!

If they freaked out and wanted outside I'd say prepare for an earthquake.  It's when they stare at "nothing" that tweaks me out.

Have a good sleep!

Hehe...not to freak you out, but according to some cultures, cat's can see spirts/dead/ghosts.

I've noticed that too....I think they do see something, we just can't see it.

Hmm.......but you dont' look/stare at nothing, unless its there, and you know.

Some vets have had those senses....I remember my dad talking about feeling, or sensing something wrong.

Either way.....its late, and I have nothing better to do, than surf ARfcom......:)

i have three cats. 2 males one female. one male is very young just 2years old(theothers are 6)
he is the largest one of the 3 at 19lbs. they all get wacky at times, But i have seen them follow ""something"" a few times, stare at stuff in the corners and the large male will guardthe door ways at times and  cry. Some times all three are involved. with two cats wacthing up close while athrid stand back a few yards on our bed. it is weird when you think of it. specially since i know my cats personalitys, and  youcan tell when they sense something. Ive seen the largest sit down and stare up atthe couch like he si being talked to,, then watch  something walk away... he is also the bravest but has at least i rember not wanted to go into a room once.  i livein an APt so who knows what else lives here ;P

edit fer pic of the largest  Ali

cats will do this just so you get up to see what it is, then they will go sit on the warm spot of the couch/bed you just got up from.

ours do the same chirping sound if there is a bug on the wall or ceiling they cant reach.

and like to eat peas, but one wont drink milk and if the other one does, it ralphs all over.

will stare at the wall-looks like a shadow- for hrs.

Yes, they did... Cat's are like ninjas - they're supposed to flip. Seriously, they are.

They probably did see something... I've had our cats do that to me a few times, there were no bugs and no mice. They DID see something. What it was, I have no idea (ghost maybe).

Even my dogs have done that to me once in a while but, I think cats are more in tune with that stuff. That's why I don't like having them around, they make me nervous.

After living two years with a very special cat I have no doubts that he can sense stuff I can't. And yes, it can be pretty freaky sometimes...

Hey, at least it's been a while since I don't woke up in the middle of the night with the cat sitting on my chest looking at me 3 inches away of my face

That seem normal, for a cat. My GF's cat once spotted a ladybug on the ceiling from about 22feet away. Just sat there and stared until it moved. Ours thinks it's a dog though, so I can tolerate it. They can see and hear stuff you never will. Not as good as a real watchdog, but better than nothing.
