Without going into too much detail, does anyone on here know how to recover/access someone's email password?  Thanks in advance for any input.

hhmm that depends.  What kind of e-mail? If they use outlook or other e-mail programs on the computer then there are many many programs that will change those **** to the actual text. Basicly you would have to dig around in the program settings to see where the password is.  If its a web based e-mail theres not much you can do if no one knows the password.  If thats the case then you need to contact them and let them know. Now lets say its your wifes e-mail that she checks daily or what ever and you want the password, then I would suggest some kind of keylogger.  They run silently in the background and the record every key thats hit on a computer.

It is a web based email system so I guess there is little chance of finding it on the user's PC.  It is a work deal that I can't really get into a whole lot of detail about.

Thanks for the input!

By the way, what does IBTL stand for anyway?

In Before The Lock.

Basically asking how to defeat a computer password may be something illegal, so it's not good to ask about things like that here.  You'd want to clarify what it's for to avoid the appearance of impropriety.

You'll have to crack it with a brute force program as you won't have access to the hash - unless he was STUPID enough to use IE's password save feature to store it locally. Assuming you've got physical access to the computer and admin privledges it can be done with a program installed. Legally you're not allowed to intercept someone else's e-mail account.

Hacking e-mail is illegal OK?
