this applies to the "Outlaw .50 Cal???" thread, but i figured it would get answered quicker by itself. do they do a background check for pellet guns at wal-mart or academy like they do for firearms?

I'am not sure for Texas but I know you can buy in Alabama without a check.

Not in Texas.  They have them out on the shelf in Academy here in College Staion.  You can just pick one up and carry it to the counter to pay for it.
