Good Day,
My name is Benita Smith. I was born and brought up in Lincoln, Rhode Island in the US but i presently live here in Tokyo where i work with a Mobile Telecommunication Company. Right now i have a total of 20 pieces of US money orders which was sent to me by my Elder sister who was formerly living in the United States not until she met her German husband who now took her to Germany where they both now live. She said i should cash the money orders and use the funds in opening a new petrol station here in Tokyo which i will be managing. The 20 money orders is worth $20,000 and each money order is carrying $1,000.

The money orders can only be cashed in the US and my Company here in Tokyo said i cannot travel over to the US because of the Company Policy which states that a n employee can only travel out of Tokyo if he/she is sent by the Company on an official business transaction to another country. I would have loved to cash them myself but since i don't have anyone to contact in the US, I was left with no other choice than to search on the internet for private individuals that post adverts online so as to see if i will get a trusted and honest who will assist me in getting it cashed over there in the US and that was how i got your email.

Please i want you to really think about it because i don't have any other person to write to and this is my first time of sending such a message like this across to someone. I promise anyone who is willing to help me cash them $5,000 after the whole money orders must have been cashed while you the remaining is sent to me. If you need my pic, i can send it to you if you need it. I live at 4-A, Nisso 22 Bldg.4F 1-11-10 Azabudai, Minato-ku, Tokyo, Japan 106-0041 and i would have loved to forward you my phone number but it is out of service and i promise to forward it to you as soon as it is back online. Please think about it. I will be awaiting your respond.
Best Regards,
Benita Smith.

That's got to be one of the dumbest things I have ever read. If someone falls for that scam, they deserve it.

There are more run-on sentences and spelling erros and syntax errors than I can count I don't know how anyone could read that and think that this person is for real and she can't leave japan to travel to company policy I think sounds just redicolous and so on...and so on... lol.

Email her back and say that you are coming to Tokyo next week, and would love to see another Rhode Island native from Lincoln. What an amazing lucky coincidence!  Maybe you went to the same high school !

I got an interesting e-mail the other day from yassir arafat's wife, Suha Arafat.  Apparently she has access to something around a billion dollars only she needs my bank account to deposit it in.

I'm thinking about it, but only if she's hot.  After all, she's single and available now!

Seen any public school students lately? I've seen brain-damaged chimps with better spelling, grammar, and penmanship.

Ummm...any email asking for money is a scam, even the legit ones from my mother.

You would be surprised at the old cons that have have now become e-mails that work.  They wouldn't stand the test of time if they didn't work.  Most people say they would never "fall for anything like that".  But people everyday, everywhere fall for cons.  There used to be one where they would stand in front of the bank and catch people telling the people, "They were Bank Inspectors" and subsequently scam the person out of their account numbers or cash.  Now they do it with e-mails.  If it didn't work they wouldn't continue doing it.  They continue doing it.
