what they are saying is that if it did not work for you, you did not calculate correctly

take a number 23 2+3 =5 23-5=18 look at the symbol for 18.

take another number 54 5+4=9 54-9=45 look at that symbol, its the same as the symbol for 18

number 24 2+4 =6 24-6=18

kinda see a pattern yet?

again, if it did not work for you, you should retake math
