Guys,
I can play CDs but nothing else works on my section of XP Home Edition........
1) Files from ARFCOM of our guys douching out BGs
2) News Clips
3) Music Clips from Media Player on the NET
.................................

Everything works on my wife's and three daughters MP 10 edition from the WEB.
I did the Tools, Options, Network tab stuff from the HELP section but nothing changed.
The Problem-  C00D1197: Cannot play the file

Thanx,

Dave S

You may need a codec pak.

Windows does not have native support for Xvid, Divx or Quicktime. IIRC same goes for any of the "real" formats.

Your security settings may be blocking the install of the required codecs - this could have been set by anti-spyware progs for your protection.

Display the volume controller and move every volume control to max volume.

Screw WMP

Get  winamp

Get Codec Pack All in 1 6.0.2.3

If that doesnt work, let me know.

You could always go to the microsoft website and DL the latest updates for WMP 10. it should fix your problem. When i run into snags with WMP,  a fast reinstall fixes all problems.

Has the sound EVER worked?  Take the error code that is given and do a search in yahoo or a google search engine, and go from there!
