before the election all we heard about was how bush screwed up and millions would die this year from the flu. The Alabama dept of health is now reporting that last month the recieved all the remaining vaccine they needed and there is ZERO demand for it. they are sitting on a large stockpile no one seems to want. |
Wrong as usual. What it really means is the election is over, the left lost their ass and now the vaccine bullshit no longer has any political value. Get it? -CH |
entirely incorrect. there is still more than enough time for a vaccination to be effective. there was only a demand for it because the media drove the issue. Most people i know that never get one only wanted it because they couldn't get one. Now that it is a dead issue they could care less. just a funny point about how the media drive the sheep in this country. |
Take a shot today -- 2 week time period it is effective -- JAN 20 Flu season ends --- what March Plus the fact that so many got shots -- there has not been a big flu epidemic. Damn pharmaceutical companies created a artificial shortage and are eating it now. Good. I will skip the fact that Bush is in bed with the pharmaceutical companies -- the argument would serve no purpose . As someone has said --- the election is over and the sheeple that adore Bush ----- will adore him no matter what he does ... |
And no offense...but you will hate him no matter what he dioes. This was not his problem..Hell, there never even WAS a problem. And a flu-shoot is useless anyways! If you get the flu and your body is too weak to fight it off then guess what? IT WAS YOUR TIME TO DIE! So sorry..to bad. Sgatr15 |

And what did the lack of flu shots early in the season mean? Evidently not much, as the flu hasn't seemed to be much of a problem around much of the nation this Fall and Winter. In fact, it seems much less busy than the year before when there was no shortage of the vaccine. |
That don't make no damn sense. First you say so many people got the shot then you say the pharmaceutical companies created a shortage. Which is it? Seems I heard a lot less people got the vaccine this year. |
dude, are you turning Christian Scientist on us? If we apply this logic, we should just shut down the medical profession altogether, since you can make the same argument about pretty much any disease that we go to great lengths to treat/prevent now. Flu shots were never supposed to be for the general population, but the media has managed to equate the lack of a flu shot with a 100% chance of a slow, hideous death. Their blatant and transparent attempts to politicize the issue worked, so we had this national hysteria. |
Correct. Same here.(I am a nurse so all the pro-shot people can STFU already). Doesn't happen to everyone, and the shot is beneficial. Problem is most of the time the shot is for the wrong flu! I've worked in the hosp for >10 yrs, around every kind of sick trol you can imagine, and only go sick the two years I took the shot. Used to be they would tell you/ME (and all at work) to my face that the virus in the shot was killed, instead of the truth, attenuated. The government is in charge and they're here to protect you.....shot is a waste of time for about everybody. |

I'm another one who gets the flu after getting the shot. Happened two or three times in the early 80's. Quit getting the shots and now I come down with a light case of whatever bug is going around only every three to five years. But the past couple of years I've been tempted to take the shot so I could take some time off from work. I might even do it if they ever offer free shots, but I too cheap to pay $15 to take a couple days off.

So I guess if my 14-month old got it and died it's just because he was too weak, tough shit for him, huh? |
