The halftime show was awful.

First the audio was terrible - barely perceptible.

The Simpson chick with her "Kill Bill" imatation, singing something akin to "You make me wanna fVck."

Kelly Clarkson was tolerable but I'm not interested in "tolerating" my "entertianment.

The country singer guy sang some dark, gutteral song I didn't recognize.

There was an AUDIBLE boo from teh crowd when it was all done. It was obvious they were pizzed.

It actually reminded me of the Superbowl / Janet jackson wardrobe malfunction.

When will the producers of these events  figger out America doesn't want this crap anymore??

I agree.  With the game looking like a boring blowout, the halftime "festivities" was all I needed to finally turn off the tv and go to bed.  What absolute crap, with poor audio and malfunctions throughout.

Agreed totally. That was horrible.

Kelly Clarkson did ok in her performance, but you could barely hear her. The sound was wayyyyyyyyyy off. Trace Adkins did ok, but sung a crappy song. He should have at least done "Chrome" or "One Hot Momma", something people might actually like. And poor Ashley Simpson, well, she should have just stayed home! Her voice was horrible.

I think they should have just canned the halftime show and allowed the USC and OU bands to entertain the crowd. Afterall, this is college football, not the freaking NFL. We don't need all that fancy crap in college games.

I would rather be forced to look at Janet Jackson's saggy tit for 15 minutes than to have to live through that again.

All halftime shows are horrible. Can't remember one that wasn't an abomination.

And then they have to make it worse by making the bands lip sync.

Freaken terrible stuff man..............

It is just amazing that so many people can spend so much time and money creating something that causes people to turn off the TV.

I'm sick of all the halftime hullabaloo...  College and NFL games...

It's about the football.  I want to watch the football and could give a crap about the halftime show.

ETA - I watch a football game for the football game.  I'd be pissed if I went to a concert, and there was a football game on stage.  Why are the networks compelled to make the halftime show into a concert?

I heard the boos from the crowd as well. I have never seen ANY halftime show that wasn't the marching bands that was worth a damn. I don't know why they had to act like it was the Super Bowl and go screw up halftime. I mean the freakin' USC band didn't even get to perform???? I would much rather have heard them than all that other shit. Ashlee Simpson looked like a used up crack whore that has been living under a bridge. Her sister definately got all the looks.

How come we have to be subjected to that kind of crap?

Hey, when I was in the Penn State Blue Band, we NEVER lip synched.

And us playing "The Stars and Stripes Forever" isn't an abomination.  (Us playing "Respect" was, but that's different.)

Because its NOT about football - its about marketing.

Football is merrely the excuse for them to make a big marketing event.

WHile my wife is a TRUE football fan, they are trying to reach the clueless teenager / soccer mom / burnout non-athlete demographic AND SELL PRODUCT.

It's true. Garandman's wife is one of just a few women I know who will actually watch a football game from start to finish.

This halftime show sucked out loud, but the Orange Bowl halftime show is traditionally pretty good. I think it's the only bowl game halftime show that's televised for TV viewers, not just the stadium crowd. I went to several Orange Bowl games when I lived in Miami in the 80s and from what I remember they were all okay.

I'ld much rather see the marching bands.  A big college band is something to behold and to listen too.  (But I played the trombone, my judgement may be suspect on that.)

And especially when they play Sousa.

EXACTLY. Any half decent college marching band with a half decent show would be infinately better than this crap they have now.

This one time, at band camp, Ashley Simpson was there so we didn't get to play, and she sucked, and she got booed. It was so cool!
