There should be more full auto video threads.

Just out of curiousity, how close would YOU have to be in order to feel confident in using a G18 on full auto? Room to room, house to house, 100 feet?

Well, if the sound of a shotgun being racked will scare a burglar into retreat, I figure the slide of a G18 should produce similar if not better results. . .

I'd say across the room; at most down a hallway.

The AUG is a neat gun.  Looked like you were handling the recoil fairly well too.

Aug's are pretty cool, Ive handled one and the neat thing about em is they come apart  just about without any tools, and the can be either left  or right hand shooters. even the ejection port can switch sides.

Now the G18 is just awsome, I would use it for vechicle defense. Anyone comes to the window and you dont want em there, very handy.

Cool, I need some 40 round mags for my 51.  As to the control with the 51, looks the same as someone shooting an M16.  Very easy to control.   Also, sucks being a lefty with the Aug unless you have the left hand bolt kit.

Note to self: If someone trains a G18 at you, stand still and calmly draw to return fire, 'cause if the first shot doesn't hit you, none of 'em will!!!!!!

Sorry, guys, no vid, but as a former Kiwi Army soldier I can testify that the Steyr is quite a good bit of kit.

It was introduced into the NZ and Aussie Armies about 1990 and went through a few teething problems, most notably with the crappy Australian license built version.  Since then though, its been used in a lot of theatres, including Bosnia, east Timor, Afghanistan and Iraq, and its performed well.  It has its fans and its detractors, and these days I have experience in a few other systems so I have a better basis for comparisons.

The Steyr was pretty revolutionary in its day, but give me a nice wee M4 shorty or a SIG 552 like we are using over here any day.

Always remember the long haired blondie in 'Die Hard' pulling one out of his bag...magazine already on and then sliding the receiver down.  "Nobody kills him but me!"

Anyway, FWIW...
