My mom hates the fact that I carry a gun. She feels it's unneeded & a danger to all around me. I have done my best to unsheeple her but she refuses to see why I carry. A couple of days ago 3 men with masks on, entered a local mexican resturant & began beating the customers with bats & pipes. The police came after the female manager locked the safe, & sliped out undetected to call for help. The bad guys had taken hostages & were continuing to beat them. The police shot 2 of the bad guys killing one, a 19 yr old hispanic, & seriously wounding another. Oh yeah they also shot a hostage by mistake. In one shoulder & out the other traveling on into his rist. I heard on the news this morning he went home from the hospital last night. I told my mom, just 1 customer with a gun could have saved all those folks from a potentially deadly beating or worse if the whole thing had gotten even more messy. Our towns not tiny, buts it's also not huge. So for this kind of thing to happen here only re-enforces why we need to carry. I have 9 rnds of WW HP ammo in my Kimber .45 I think I could have got all three without endangering innocents if I were in that sittuation. I could at the very least put them to flight. ![]() Do you point out things like this to those whom your with when discussing why you, & why "THEY" should be carrying concealed? I use every event like this on my mom, but to no avail. I always get, "well I don't believe you should carry".

You should hear the story about Susanna Gratia-Hupp... When I was in highschool, Ms Hupp went to meet her parents at the Luby's in Waco, Tx. Being nervous about being caught, she left her revolver in her car and proceeded to have lunch with her parents. Shortly after, a crazed man crashed his truck through the windows, got out and started shooting. I can't remember, but I think he emptied several magazines from a couple pistols, and then offed himself. IIRC, almost 20 killed and 20 wounded. Ms Hupp's parents were among the dead. She could have stopped that psycho and saved 10... 15... maybe all 20 lives... but she was afraid to carry her handgun with her, because Texas did not have a CCW law at the time. That changed real quick. CCW does save lives. It would save more if more responsible adults would carry. |

At the time she was just Susanna Gratia. And she later was the prime motivator and rallying point for CCW in Texas. She also testified before a Congressional Hearing and gave those bastards hell for the gun control laws they wanted. At that time they were considering a mag ban or something (this was prior to the 94 AWB). She came right out and said the gun control laws they proposed and passed were responsible for the murder of her parents and many others. She kicks ass. I love her! |

My dad got me interested in guns at a very early age. Took me hunting. What does he say about me carrying concealed? "All you'll do with that thing is get yourself in trouble." Um... dad... it's for keeping me OUT of trouble. The majority of people just don't understand. |

I'm not trying to disrespect my mom. It's more of with this in your face in your own town how can you still think that way???? Last summer in our town, we had man stabbed in the parking lot of a store beceause he tried to run when a mugger demanded his car keys. I also pointed this out to my mom. The guy tried to run away, offer not resistance, just run for his life, & ended up stabbed. ![]() Just do like they say& all will be ok. Crazy dangerous people require a tactical answer. Period
