31 inch Bridgestone Dueller Revo A/Ts are the way to go...if you want fun fun fun in the snow. I had to pass a stranded Jaguar that was stuck in his tracks. For the money he spent on that overpriced Ford he could have bought  3 Jeep Wranglers. I was hating winter, but this snow today is making the cold worth it...

Sorry, it's still dark and blowing pretty hard. Just south and east of here, in the rural counties, they put blizzard warnings up. Supposedly they got 18 inches to the south of Toledo, and the winds might gust up to 40 mph later today.

My new '05 Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon, with all of 1200 miles on the odometer, is now in the shop.

Check engine light came on, then the Check Guages, then the oil pressuge guage went to zero. All pretty quickly.

Still waiting for a mechanic to look at it to determine if the engine has toasted itself, or if there was just a pressure sensor failure and the computer decided to do a failsafe shutdown.

Go anywhere, trail rated. Hmmm.

We received a major snow fall last night here in Indianapolis.  I went out this morning and cleaned the snow off the trusty blue Taurus.  I fired it up and slowly plowed my way all the way up my driveway and out on to the main road. It took me an hour to get to work.  It normally takes 20 minutes. I couldn't believe how well it went through the snow.  Not as good as our Explorer, but it made it.

We only got about 6 inches so far in SE MI.  My Neon took me to work w/o any problems just like it took my wife to work for 6 years in N MI and my Plymouth Laser took me to work for 8 years in N MI before I inherited the Neon.  4WD is over rated for road driving,  FWD will do most anything a 4WD will do on the road.  Now offroad or breaking new trails it's no contest, but I get tired of all my coworkers thinking only a 4WD will get you somewhere when it snows.

Note:  The Jag is rear wheel drive.

Sounds like you got one that was built late Friday afternoon...what you need is a Jeep built during the middle of the week. Seriously, that sucks. I know how frustrating car problems can be...at least it sounds like anything that happens will be covered. I don't ever have the scratch to have a vehicle new enough for a warranty so I gamble every time I take it out...

I agree that FWD is vastly superior to RWD in bad conditions (unless you have a sophisticated traction control system, maybe...) but IMHO the ground clearance afforded by most real 4x4s is hard to beat. I'm sure a properly driven Neon can get you around in the snow...but I'd much rather have the addited benefit of having the bottom of my doors 20 plus inches off the ground...

We got pretty nailed in Cleveland, with all the snow yesterday and the rain/sleet/freezing rain this morning.  I have a 4X4 Sonoma.  It's nice.  I had fun this morning passing a Hummer!  lol.  I'm sure it was more related to the driver's skill than the ability of the vehicle, but it was still satisfying!

My '02 Ranger Edge "Got'R Done" this morning.  I haven't taken it out of 4x4 since early yesterday.  Yes the 18mpg during the summer sux.  Yes the expensive tires in the summer sux.  Yes living in the slush belt sux.  Having a 4x4 that goes where you point it in the worst of road conditions ROCKS .

jeep 1 snow 0 for me also, so boring, not enough snow to even lock it in 4X4

Snow 1 Camaro 0 here. Level 3 and I can't even see my car let alone drive it down my 200' driveway with 3 to 5 feet of snow covering it.

went up into the moutains couple days back with 2 friends.  It was raining so we went higher to where it was snowing.  Shooting in the snow is much better than in the rain.  We took my friends car.

I have a 92 Lexus.  Its been hit 5-6 times.  Never while it was moving.  Cracked floor plate so need to be carful not to bottom it out.  Just had to replace a battery.  Right now it's in the shop getting the alternater replaced.  It was staling out on me.  It's rear wheel drive so no snow for me.  It sure gets up to 60 right quick though

Don't know how the new jeeps are but if I was a single guy I'd certainly consider another jeep especially if I lived in snow country

Camaro is Indian (Native American) for "car on skis". I know, I used to own one back in the day.

damn!

not an inch of snow in minerva, yet!!! and we usually get hit hard with lake effect snow AND snow coming out of the ohio river valley.

it never got down to freezing last night, so all it did was rain from 2pm yesterday up until a few minutes ago.

it has just now turned into a wet snow.

my trusty 2-wheel drive s10 will roll down to the inlaw's farm later today to deliver presents and a turkey. i may take a rifle along a shoot out in the fields.

Bah.  You can do anything with RWD that you can with FWD, if you know what you are doing.  I had a FWD 5-speed Beretta, and the torque steer drove me nuts.  I had never missed my Buick Electra so much in all my life.  I passed 4wd Suburbans in the snow with that thing.  Granted, the asshat in the Suburban probably had no fucking clue how to drive...

I like my '83 Mercedes with the Finnish snow tires.  I thought about having them studded, but they make enough noise as it is.  They go like there is no tomorrow though.

my s10 runs on 4 carbide-studded, deep lugged snow tires.

with 400 lbs. in the bed, it will humiliate many sport-utes out in the blizzards. it's fun to roar past them on the interstate, like i did last sunday on the way to the gun show in a snow-belt white out! heheh!

My Impala SS and won't be leaving the driveway for a few days. 4000 pound RWD cars with road racing tires are not meant for this kind of bullshit. I have a '79 Wagoneer, but it is 60 miles away, and I can't even get to it.

They havent changed too much. Local jeep shop just put a YJ body tub, and then front end off a cj onto a CJ frame. Pretty much bolted up, Few things were different, not too much was though.
