Good for you! Big screens are fun

But once the bank scene is over, you may as well turn it off. IMHO The rest of the movie leading up to and after the bank scene isn't that great.

Especially the ending.  I can't believe how stupid Robert DeNiro got at the airport when he stepped right out into the open and got himself shot.  When I first saw the movie, my jaw dropped at that blatant disregard for logic and tactics.

"Heat" is a longer less interesting version of "Point Break" with better acting and less story.

I'll get it out of the way...

hope I come out of this one alive.

"EVERYBODY DOWN!  We want to hurt no one.  We're here for the bank's money, not your money.  Your money's insured by the federal government, you're not gonna lose a dime.  Think of your families, dont try and be a hero.  Anybody sick, anybody got heart trouble, go ahead and lean up against the wall."

Ah, De Niro...the thinking mans psychopath.

Paenutz...youre a bastid!

Pointless trivia:  "Heat" is the big screen, big star remake of Manns earlier "Made in LA" telemovie, which sucked big time.  Has all the same characters and events, just with no name actors.  He remade it in 95 with the big shots.  The bank shoot out in "Made in LA" was just a quick exchange of fire with Uzis.

I think the "Heat" robbery is one of the best shoot outs put on film.

Thoughts from the floor???

Omaha stylee did not think there was one
Where you know the radios weak and the shows are more fun
But you know we f**k up the dance since 1988
Many did not think when they hear that we come from this state

that movie is great for the sound of the shooting
most movies kind of muffle it and all the guns sound a like
in Heat it's not muffled and the rifles really stand out like in real life

I liked the shootout after the bank because they were using bounding technique to cover each other while they advanced.  It's almost a military training video!!!
